Local revolving loan funds could be used to tear down a fire damaged home on South Ash Street

The Mercer County Commissioners have signed off on a request by the Mercer County office of Community Development to apply for a waiver to use Community Development Block Grant funds to demolish a house damaged by fire at 221 South Ash Street. The fire happened on December 20th. If the waiver requested is approved, $15,000 would be used to tear down the structure. The house was declared unsafe following the fire. Two children, ages 1 and 2, were rescued from the fire by the Celina Fire Department.
