SCOUTS CAMP


ONE OF THE NATION'S LARGEST BOY SCOUT COUNCILS IS CONSIDERING CLOSING A PAIR OF ITS CAMPS IN SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL OHIO. 
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH REPORTS THAT THE SIMON KENTON COUNCIL OF BOY SCOUTS CITES LOW USE AND DEGRADATION OF THE FACILITIES AMONG ITS REASONS FOR CONSIDERING THE CLOSURE OF ITS CHIEF LOGAN RESERVATION CAMP IN ROSS COUNTY. THE COUNCIL IS ALSO WEIGHING THE SALE OR LEASE OF 60 UNUSED ACRES AT ITS POPULAR CAMP LAZARUS IN DELAWARE COUNTY.
OFFICIALS SAY AN INFORMATIONAL MEETING IS PLANNED FOR 7 O'CLOCK TONIGHT (TUESDAY) AT THE BEST WESTERN ADENA INN IN CHILLICOTHE. THE SIMON KENTON COUNCIL SERVES 18 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN OHIO AND NORTHERN KENTUCKY.
