Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Drexler


Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Drexler, age 91 of Celina, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024 at the Trustwell Living at Miller Place in Celina. She was born on March 6, 1933 in Wapakoneta, the daughter of the late Fred Sr. and Vivian (Osborne) Fischer. On April 19, 1952 she married Harold Drexler who preceded her in death on July 8, 2000. Liz is survived by her children Jerry Drexler (Loretta Brown) of The Villages, FL, Tom (Rose) Drexler of Celina, Carla (Mike) Hoyng of Fredericktown, Jo Ann Geriak of Celina, Barb Slaven of Botkins, and Doug (Rosita) Drexler of Celina.

Liz is preceded in death by her brother Fred Fischer Jr., sister Karen Kinstle, and her grandson Darren Drexler.

Liz worked at the Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Celina; she retired in 2000 after 26 years as the school secretary. Liz spent many years in the bleachers cheering on her children, and later her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in myriad sporting events and school activities. When not in the stands, she loved playing bridge, doing counted cross-stich, reading a good book or working with jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed treating family and friends to their favorite baked treats of pie, cake, cookies, donuts, and candy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Rob Muhlenkamp officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemtery in Celina. Friends and family may call from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, and an hour before services on Friday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Endowment Fund. Condolences may be shared with the Drexler family online at LehmanDzendzelFH.com.
