Mercer County was tied with Medina and Geauga tied for the lowest unemployment rate in the state at 2.3 percent for the month of October. According to the Ohio Department of Job and Family services, Auglaize and Van Wert Counties were tied for the 7th lowest rate of unemployment in Ohio at 2.3 rate. The highest rate of unemployment was Lucas County with 7 percent. Ohio’s  unemployment rate for the month was 3.5 percent. The National rate of unemployment was 4.1 percent.
