HILLIARD AMTRAK
WEST OF COLUMBUS, OFFICIALS WITH THE CITY OF HILLIARD ARE STILL IN A WAITING PHASE REGARDING PLANS FOR A POTENTIAL AMTRAK STATION IN THE CITY.
THERE ARE STILL TWO POTENTIAL ROUTES THAT COULD MOVE THROUGH HILLIARD: THE FIRST ROUTE WOULD CONNECT CLEVELAND, COLUMBUS DAYTON AND CINCINNATI AND THE SECOND ROUTE WOULD CONNECT PITTSBURGH, COLUMBUS, FT WAYNE, AND CHICAGO. RIGHT NOW AMTRAK OFFICIALS ARE LOOKING AT BOTH OF THOSE ROUTES TO SEE IF ONE OR BOTH OF THESE ROUTES COULD PASS THROUGH HILLIARD. THE CITY PURCHASED PROPERTY OFF BROWN PARK DRIVE---AND ACQUIRED LAND BEHIND GIANT EAGLE OFF BRITTON PARKWAY, WHICH IS WHERE THE STATION WOULD BE LOCATED.
