TOL PROTEST SETTLEMENTS 

TOLEDO CITY COUNCIL IS PREPARING TO VOTE TO SETTLE TWO LAWSUITS STEMMING FROM PROTESTS OVER THE DEATH OF GEORGE FLOYD.
COUNCILWOMAN CERSSANDRA MCPHERSON TELLS US THE CITY IS SET TO PAY OUT $800,000 FROM THE RISK MANAGEMENT FUND. A MAJORITY OF THAT WILL GO TO A WOMAN WHO SUFFERED SEVERE LEG INJURIES DURING THE DEMONSTRATION. TOLEDO WOULD PAY THE REST OUT TO A MAN WHO WAS HIT BY A WOODEN BULLET WHICH BROKE HIS EYE SOCKET. THE SETTLEMENT ALSO INCLUDES A PERMANENT INJUNCTION AGAINST CERTAIN POLICE TACTICS DURING PROTESTS, SUCH AS FIRING WOODEN PELLETS. COUNCIL IS EXPECTED TO MAKE THIS DECISION NEXT TUESDAY.
