Janice J. Johnson, 94, of Columbia City, IN died 10:20 p.m. Wednesday Wednesday April 23, 2025 at Parkview - Whitley Hospital in Columbia City, IN.

She was born October 9, 1930 in Kodak, KY to Roy and Kate (Sumner) Reed.

Survivors include:

Daughter Mary Katherine Crouse of Lucedale, MS

Brother Robert (Helen) Reed of Columbia City, IN

Sister Anna Mae (Steve) Lawman of Laurens, IA

Sister Karen Russell of Laverne, AL

grandchildren

Numerous nieces and nephews

Caregiver Sueann Crooke of Kimmell, IN

Preceded in death by:

daughter Vicki Hogsten; son Derrick “Hog” Hogsten; son Ricky Hogsten; sister Billie Jean “Mickey” Crutchfield; sister Carol Parks; sister Paula Nagel; brother James Lowell Johnson; brother Fernando Pearl Reed 

She had been employed with the Mersman Bros. Furniture Mfg. in Celina, OH for a number of years.

Janice enjoyed attending family get-togethers and was an avid reader (especially, the Bible).

Funeral Rites are scheduled to begin  at 1:00 p.m. Thursday May 15, 2025 at the Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St. Marys, OH.

Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton, OH.

Visitation 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
