According to the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Joseph J. Homan (62) of Coldwater, who wasn’t wearing a safety belt, suffered serious injuries after failing to stop at a red traffic light, resulting in a collision around noon Friday.
Homan’s 2010 Chrysler Town and Country was eastbound on SR 219 and didn’t stop at the light at the intersection with U.S. 127. Homan’s vehicle struck a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Brian D. Hess (40) of Maria Stein. The Chrysler slid off the right side of U.S. 127 and struck a utility pole.
Homan was originally transported to Mercer County Community Hospital before being transferred to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center by Lutheran Air.
Hess was wearing a safety belt, two passengers Hudson Hess (2) was secured in a booster seat and Paxton Hess (2) was secured in a child restraint system. All three were transported by Mercer County EMS to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St.
Marys.
