Virginia E. Kuenning, age 73,
formerly of New Bremen, died on June 29, 2025, at the Otterbein Senior Lifestyles Community in St. Marys where she had resided since 2017. She was born on May 18, 1952, in Lima, the daughter of the late Robert E., Sr. and Mai Beaven (Beall) Kuenning. She is survived by her brother Mark (Kymberly) Kuenning of Cincinnati. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Robert Kuenning, Jr., and Eric Kuenning.
Gina was a 1970 graduate of New Bremen High School. She was a dedicated office assistant working first for her father at the former Advance Auto Company, and later for Jim Bubeck Chevrolet in New Bremen. She possessed an avid love for reading, and could often be found at the New Bremen Public Library. As a lifelong member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Gina found joy in her faith, actively participating in the life of the church through singing in the choir, being on the mission team, being involved in several women’s groups and more. Her dedication to her church was a reflection of her deep love for family, friends, and community. She was known for her nurturing spirit and her eagerness to help, always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.
A memorial service to honor Virginia’s life will be held at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen on July 12, 2025, at 2:30 P.M., followed by inurnment in the German Protestant Cemetery. Rev. David Voll will be officiating. Family and friends are invited to dress casually as we gather in remembrance of a life well-lived, celebrating the impact she made on the lives of those around her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen.
