FERRALL ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR AUGLAIZE COUNTY COMMON PLEAS COURT JUDGE

Local attorney and St. Marys City Law Director Zach G. Ferrall has officially announced his Republican candidacy for Judge of the Probate, Domestic Relations, and Juvenile Court in Auglaize County. He seeks to succeed the Honorable Mark E. Spees, who has served with distinction since 1994 and is not seeking reelection due to judicial age limits.

Ferrall brings more than a decade of local, state, and federal legal experience to the race and his strong qualifications mean he will be positioned well to take over one of Auglaize County’s most important courts. He is currently serving his second term as the elected Law Director for the City of St. Marys, Ohio, and is a partner at Noble, Montague, and Moul, LLC, where his practice focuses on estate planning, probate litigation, and real estate matters. “Zach Ferrall has represented our city and our clients with devotion and skill,” said St. Marys attorney Kraig Noble, “I don’t believe I could think of a better person to take over our local probate court.”

Throughout his career, Ferrall has handled a wide variety of complex legal matters. As city Law Director, he has prosecuted numerous criminal cases on behalf of the City of St. Marys and has represented clients in probate and family law cases. He has also been appointed by the Auglaize County Probate Court to represent individuals in mental illness hearings and has served as a mediator in civil cases for the Van Wert Municipal Court. “Working with Zach has been an honor,” said retired Auglaize County Prosecutor Ed Pierce, “he’s one of the most respected local attorneys in our bar and I support his candidacy fully.”

In addition to his legal career, Ferrall has a strong record of civic involvement. He currently serves on the Ohio State Bar Association Board of Governors, where he helps manage the association’s business affairs, sets policy, and reviews pending legislation. He is also actively engaged in community service. He is Vice President of MAV Youth Mentoring (formerly Big Brothers Big Sisters) and previously served as Honorary Chairman of the United Way of Auglaize County’s Capital Campaign. He is a past president of the St. Marys Rotary Club, former chairman of the St. Marys Summerfest and was recently honored with the prestigious Builder of Bridges award for his significant contributions to the St. Marys community. “Zach’s not just a great attorney, he’s a great community leader,” said Auglaize County Commissioner Doug Spencer, “he’s exactly the kind of person we need as judge.”

Ferrall lives in St. Marys with his wife, Stacy, and their dog, Benny. In the fall, he can often be found providing commentary for Roughrider football games on YouTube’s “Rider Nation Station.” Ferrall’s background, marked by extensive legal experience, a strong judicial temperament, and a deep commitment to public service, positions him as a strong candidate for the Auglaize County Probate, Domestic Relations, and Juvenile Court of Common Pleas in the May 6th, 2026 election.
