St. Marys City Schools Employee Placed on Leave Amid Investigation

ST. MARYS, OH — October 20, 2025 — St. Marys City Schools has placed an employee on leave following an allegation involving a student.

According to Superintendent Bill Ruane, the district was made aware of the allegation and immediately contacted the student and the student’s parents. The St. Marys Police Department and Children Services were also notified.

Ruane said the employee was placed on leave right away, and the district is cooperating fully with law enforcement as the investigation continues.
