The 250th Marine Corps Birthday will be celebrated on Sunday 9 , November 2025 at the Museum of the Soldier, 510 E Arch Street in Portland, Indiana beginning at 2 PM We will beHonoring all Marines who have served or are currently serving. Family members of marines not present will be recognized as well. Program will start at 2 PM with the Commandant’s message. This year’s speaker is Jessymen Harter, “The Pint-size Patriot” from Madison, NY. She will be presenting the story of her Grandfather WWII US Marine Marty Connor and Japanese Naval Captain Tsunazo Wachi and the story of a Japanese Flag from a battlefield in the Pacific to upstate NY and its return to the original family in Japan. Autographed copies of the book by Award winning Author Samantha Bresnahan will be available for purchase. Her program will be followed by introductions of each marine present and the official cake cutting ceremony. Refreshments will be served as well.
If you ever served in the Marine Corps or had a family member who did, plan to attend this special event. A special exhibit of 125 years of US Marine uniforms and equipment will be on display as well, including uniforms from 1904 to the present. The program is free and open to the public.
Everyone is invited to attend and help remember and recognize the service and sacrifice of the US Marines.
