FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery Local Schools Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting Monday, December 15th, in the high school community room, according to Superintendent Tony Stahl.

During the meeting, the board recognized senior Leah Wuebker, who was selected to participate in the Ohio Music Education Association All-State Choir next month. Board members congratulated Wuebker and wished her well as she prepares for the performance.

District Treasurer Deanna Knapke presented a financial update, including a $500,000 transfer to the district’s Permanent Improvement Fund. She also reviewed appropriation updates connected to a $23,000 safety grant recently awarded to the district.

Stahl said administrators provided several updates, including highlights from the district’s Professional Development Day held December 1st, an overview of upcoming student benchmark testing, and a report noting increased student involvement at the high school level.

In other business, the board approved a 10-year capital plan designed to guide facility maintenance and long-term financial planning. The plan outlines projected costs and timelines for future projects such as track resurfacing and bus purchases.

The board also approved an overnight FFA field trip, hired several athletic coaches for the upcoming spring sports season, and accepted donations from the Fort Recovery Athletic Boosters.

The board’s 2026 organizational meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 12th, at 6 p.m. in the high school community room.
