ROCKFORD — Parkway Local Schools has announced it is searching for its next Head Varsity Football Coach, opening the door for a new leader to guide the Panthers’ Division VI football program.

District officials say the school is looking for a dynamic coach to lead the program while competing in the Midwest Athletic Conference, widely regarded as one of the toughest leagues in Ohio. The position offers an opportunity to build a strong team culture and mentor student-athletes both on and off the field.

Parkway noted that potential teaching positions may also be available, depending on district needs and the candidate’s licensure.

The most recent head coach, Brian Schmidt, was hired in December 2023. The district did not release additional details regarding the coaching transition.

Applications for the head coaching position are due by January 16, 2026. Interested candidates can apply online through the district’s application portal.

Parkway officials say they are looking forward to welcoming a new leader to continue the tradition of Panther football.
