PRESS RELEASE – CEAO WINTER CONFERENCE AWARDS

The County Engineers Association of Ohio (CEAO) presented state recognition awards to Ohio County Engineers and their staff during its annual business meeting which was held December 3 & 4, 2025 at the Hilton Columbus.

James A. Wiechart, P.E., P.S., Mercer County Engineer was awarded the CEAO David P. Brand Safety Award for his dedicated service to the Mercer County Engineer’s Office.

Wiechart stated when given the award.   “It is an honor to receive this award and be recognized by your peers; but this award really should go to all the employees of the Mercer County Engineer’s Office.  Our staff has embraced our mission of improving the safety of our roads.  This is not a 1- or 2-year effort but a multiple-decade journey and we strive to improve safety on our roads with whatever means are possible.  The challenge is daunting, but this is part of our mission to which we strive.   We are thankful for the support of our Commissioners and our Trustees.”
