Celina fire crews contain Nicholson Drive house fire; two treated for smoke inhalation

Celina Fire Chief Brian Davis says crews responded Tuesday morning to a reported house fire on Nicholson Drive, where firefighters found heavy smoke coming from a second floor window and quickly contained the damage to one room.

Davis said the call came in at 9:57 a.m. for a fire at 4505 Nicholson Drive. The Celina Fire Department responded with six personnel and received mutual aid from the St. Marys Fire Department, which sent four additional firefighters.

Upon arrival, Davis said crews located heavy smoke coming from a second floor window and were able to make a quick initial attack. Davis said the fire was a room and contents fire and was knocked down quickly.

While the majority of the damage was contained to the room where the fire started, Davis said there was smoke and water damage throughout the rest of the home.

Davis said two people were transported to Mercer Health in Coldwater for treatment related to smoke inhalation.
