Celina swears in first female police officer, Hunter Mote

The City of Celina is welcoming a milestone addition to its police department.

Officials announced the hiring of the city’s first ever female police officer. Mayor Jeff Hazel swore in Officer Hunter Mote on February 20, 2026.

City leaders say they are excited to have Mote join the department and are encouraging residents to welcome her to the community.

Mote was joined at the swearing in by Mayor Hazel and Celina Police Chief Wale.
