Multiple agencies execute search warrants at 2 Wapakoneta BP stations

WAPAKONETA, Ohio — (Courtesy of Hometown Stations) — Multiple law enforcement agencies carried out search warrants at 2 BP gas stations in Wapakoneta as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

According to authorities, the warrants were obtained following a lengthy investigation by the Grand Lake Task Force. Mutual aid was requested while officers conducted searches at both locations.

Assisting at the scene were deputies from the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office, officers with the Wapakoneta Police Department, agents from the Ohio Investigative Unit, the United States Border Patrol, and troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Authorities say the owner of the businesses has been contacted but was not at the scene and is not cooperating at this time.

Michael Vorhees, Sheriff of Auglaize County, told hometown stations the locations have been under investigation for some time.

“Those gas stations have been under investigation by the Grand Lake Task Force for some time for some drug activity, and both search warrants were served today. It is a pending investigation, and it is ongoing at this time,” Vorhees said.

The investigation remains active. Additional details are expected to be released as they become available.
