City of Celina Announces 2026 Special Trash Collection Guidelines
CELINA — The City of Celina has released details for its 2026 Special Trash Collection, outlining strict regulations on acceptable items, pickup limits, and scheduling.
City officials say the collection is limited to general household discards from city residences only. Due to rising landfill costs, restrictions, and the use of packer trucks, regulations will be strictly enforced.
Each residence is limited to a maximum of 60 cubic feet of trash — the equivalent of what can fit into the hopper of a collection truck at one time.
The following items will not be collected:
Couches
Mattresses
Appliances, including refrigerators, stoves and water heaters
Sinks and stools
Tires and batteries
Tree limbs, brush, leaves and yard waste
Railroad ties
Unboxed or unbundled building materials
Concrete, brick and stone debris
Metal fencing
Motor blocks, transmissions and auto body parts
Pressure containers
Liquid waste and hazardous materials, including paint and motor oil
Paint cans must be empty or the paint completely dried out. Special disposal tags for certain items can be purchased at the Celina Utilities Office.
