The 2026 Mercer County Oratory Contest, presented by Mercer County Right to Life, took place on March 8 at 1 PM in the Mercer Health Luken Room. The event showcased the talents of six high school finalists delivering passionate speeches on the topics of abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia.
Judges Judge Matt Fox, Heidi Kramer, and Hal Hoover evaluated the presentations, while past chairman Julie Link kept time. Family and friends filled the room to support the students’ strong convictions and commitment to defending life at all stages.
First place went to Alexis Buschur, who received a $1,000 prize. Isaac Roessner earned second place with $750, and Jackson Bange finished third, receiving $500. The other finalists—Karissa Hilty, Grace Merril, and Cora Kremer—each received $250 for their outstanding presentations.
A special thanks goes to Chairman Allison Schwieterman and everyone who helped make the event a success, celebrating the voices and courage of Mercer County’s youth.
