Fort Recovery Chamber Honors Local Businesses, Citizens and Scholarship Recipients at Annual Banquet
The Fort Recovery Chamber of Commerce recognized local businesses, community leaders and students during its annual awards banquet held Monday night.
Wangler Hardware Store was named Business of the Year. The Mayor’s Outstanding Community Service Award went to the Southwest Mercer Fire District, while Randy Diller received the Friend of the Fort Recovery Chamber Award.
Amy Wendel was honored as Citizen of the Year. Tom Kaup and Carl Hastings were both inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The Chamber and Rabe Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Olivia Knapke, daughter of Joe and Kim Knapke. The Merchant Scholarship went to Georgia Wenning, daughter of Matt and Stacy Wenning.
Beautification Awards were also presented during the evening. Garrett and Rachel Faller received the award for Most Improved Dwelling. Dan and Marcia Schmits were recognized for Most Improved Residential, and Polanco’s Mexican Kitchen was honored for Most Improved Commercial Dwelling.
The annual banquet celebrates the people, businesses and organizations making a positive impact in the Fort Recovery community.
