NEWS RELEASE
March 16, 2026
In the early morning hours of Saturday, March 14, 2026, at approximately 2:43 a.m., Celina Police Sergeant Dave Powell observed a gray 2018 Nissan Altima traveling westbound on E. Fayette Street fail to stop for a red traffic signal at the intersection of S. Main Street. Sgt. Powell attempted to initiate a traffic stop; however, the driver fled.
The vehicle continued north on S. Walnut Street before turning east into an alley in the 100 block. The driver then crossed S. Main Street and drove through the patio area adjacent to Brew Nation, destroying patio furniture and a bicycle rack.
The driver, identified as 25-year-old Trenton Wilson, continued through several alleys before arriving at his residence at 313 E. Livingston Street, where he was taken into custody a short time later. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
During the investigation, Wilson stated, “I pulled some GTA (expletive) tonight, didn’t I?” while laughing about it. This statement was referencing the video game Grand Theft Auto, which is known for depicting reckless driving and police pursuits. Wilson later submitted to a chemical breath test and recorded a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.228, nearly three times the legal limit.
Wilson is currently being held at the Mercer County Jail on multiple charges, including:
• Criminal Endangering (Misdemeanor of the 2nd Degree)
• Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence (Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree)
• Leaving the Scene of an Accident on Private Property (Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree)
• Failure to Comply with the Lawful Order or Signal of a Police Officer (Felony of the 3rd Degree)
Additional charges may be filed pending review by the Erin Minor.
