Celina School Board to review finances, staffing, and future plans Monday
CELINA, Ohio — The Celina City School District Board of Education will meet Monday evening to address a wide range of district business, including finances, staffing, and planning for the upcoming school year.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in the high school lecture hall.
Board members will begin with routine business, including approval of the agenda and roll call, followed by several reports from staff and union representatives. Updates are expected from CEA Co-Presidents, the OAPSE President, and district facilities leadership.
Treasurer Michelle Mawer will present the monthly financial report, which shows February revenues of more than $11.4 million and expenditures of about $5.7 million.
The board will also consider:
Approval of recent meeting minutes
Cash reconciliation totaling more than $67.6 million, including funds designated for the district’s building project
Approval of nearly $5.54 million in checks issued during February
Adoption of fiscal year 2026 permanent appropriations
Board members are also expected to accept donations, including $500 from the Celina Basketball Booster Club and a livestock donation to the Tri Star Animal Health program from MVP Dairy.
In addition, the board will set June 4, 2026, as the date for the annual Tri Star house auction.
Superintendent Brooke Gessler is expected to present several items for approval, including personnel actions and a stipend for additional student support services.
The board will also consider:
Approval of the 2026–2027 school calendar
An overnight trip for the Celina FFA to attend the National FFA Washington Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.
A series of policy updates, including those addressing artificial intelligence use, student grading, and financial procedures
Board members will review and vote on an updated administrative salary schedule covering positions such as principals, directors, and supervisors.
They will also consider approval of the district’s Head Start report and an updated fiscal policy manual.
Time will be set aside for public participation, with individuals limited to three minutes each.
The board may also enter executive session to discuss personnel matters, as permitted under Ohio law.
The meeting will conclude with adjournment following all scheduled business.
The meeting is open to the public.
