St. Marys Memorial High School will bring the musical Damn Yankees to the stage this weekend.

St. Marys Memorial High School will bring the musical Damn Yankees to the stage this weekend.

Musical director Allie Phlipot said the production will be performed March 27 and March 28.

Phlipot was joined by students Ollie Chisholm and Corbin Duvernay, who are both seniors at St. Marys Memorial High School and part of the cast.

Chisholm, who plays Joe Hardy, encouraged the community to come out and support the show.

He said the story begins with Joe Boyd, a simple man who is happily married but loves baseball so much that he sells his soul to the devil in order to become a great player. Chisholm said Boyd then transforms into Joe Hardy, who becomes the face of the Washington Senators and helps turn the team around.

Duvernay plays Mr. Applegate in the production.

Tickets are $6 for students and $10 for adults. They can be purchased at the door or online through the school’s website or the Facebook page:
