Fort Recovery Schools Superintendent previews busy April with spring sports, student play, testing and prom events

Fort Recovery Local Schools Superintendent Tony Stahl says April is shaping up to be a busy month across the district as students, staff and families head into the heart of the spring season.

In an update to the community, Stahl said spring sports are now underway, with student athletes beginning competition and representing the district this season.

He also highlighted an upcoming elementary and middle school drama production, Shake, Rattle, and Save the Diner. Performances are scheduled for April 10 through April 12 in the elementary and middle school auditorium. Stahl encouraged families and community members to mark their calendars and attend one of the shows.

State testing is also approaching in the coming weeks. Stahl asked parents to stay in contact with their child’s building for specific testing dates and to help students be prepared, well rested and ready to do their best. He noted that a full list of district testing dates is available on the school’s website.

Looking later into the month, Stahl said Fort Recovery will host its annual prom on Friday, April 24. In connection with prom season, the district’s S.A.D D Club will partner with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office to host a biannual mock crash presentation. Stahl said he appreciates the work of the Sheriff’s Office, the S.A.D. Club students and their advisor in putting the event together, and said he hopes it serves as a meaningful experience for students.

Stahl closed by encouraging the community to continue following the district’s social media pages and website for additional updates throughout the month.
