St. Henry Board Recognizes State Title Team, Approves Summer Projects and Staff Changes
ST. HENRY — St. Henry Schools opened its latest Board of Education meeting by recognizing the 2026 girls basketball state championship team and its coaches, celebrating the program’s first-ever girls state basketball title and the district’s 23rd state championship overall.
Superintendent Adam Puthoff said the board met Monday evening in the high school media center and highlighted several projects planned for the summer months across the district.
Among the planned work, Puthoff said the north and west parking lots will be redone, the track will be resurfaced and restriped, and new fence posts and fencing will be installed around the outside of the football field.
He also said flooring and painting projects will continue throughout the district, while construction on the new marquee sign is expected to be finished by the end of the week.
Puthoff said the St. Henry Booster Club is also continuing work on the press box project, and he thanked the group for its ongoing support of St. Henry athletics.
The superintendent also announced that active shooter training will take place at the middle school and high school June 24th through 26th. The training will involve the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and other local agencies.
In other action, the board approved several donations for the Get Real program from St. Henry One Stop, St. Henry Dairy Dream, and Floral Reflections.
The board also approved the list of graduates for the 2025 to 2026 school year, pending completion of all graduation requirements. Puthoff said the current senior class includes 77 students.
Board members approved several fund transfers, including 450 thousand dollars from the General Fund to the Permanent Improvement Fund, 50 thousand dollars from the General Fund to the Termination Benefits Fund, and a 30 thousand dollar advance from the General Fund to the Employee Insurance Fund.
The board also approved participation in Sedgwick Ohio’s 2027 group rating program for unemployment compensation, workers compensation, and third party administrative services, along with an overnight FFA field trip to the state convention.
Several staffing changes were also approved.
The board also approved Adam Timmerman as St. Henry’s next athletic director on a three year administrative contract beginning August 1st.
Additional approvals included certified and classified contracts, a three year administrative contract for middle school principal Kyle Kunk, and a one year administrative contract for Tom Marshall as technology director.
The meeting ended with an executive session for employment matters, with no action taken afterward.
St. Henry’s next board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13th at 5 p.m. in the high school media center.
