On April 19, 2026 at approximately 4:48 PM Darke County Deputies along with Osgood Fire and Osgood Rescue were dispatched to the 7600 block of Medford Road in reference to a fatal accident.

  Preliminary investigation revealed Steve P. Kramer (65) of Versailles, Ohio was operating a Case 1845 skid loader while traveling eastbound on Medford Road with a large log on the front of the skid loader. The weight of the log was too heavy, causing the skid loader to tip forward ejecting Mr. Kramer out the front. Mr. Kramer became pinned between the boom and the skid loader. Mr. Kramer succumb to injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

  The Darke County Coroner’s Investigator responded to the scene for further investigation.
