Celina Mercer County Chamber highlights upcoming community events, fundraisers and summer activities

CELINA - Celina Mercer County Chamber of Commerce Director Stacy Beougher is encouraging residents to get involved in a wide range of local events and activities now through the start of summer.

In a community update, Beougher highlighted several upcoming fundraisers, family programs, and seasonal events taking place across Mercer County.

Among them is a quarter auction benefiting Mercer Residential Services on April 25 at the Celina Eagles. Beougher said a $10 ticket includes admission, a meal, and an auction paddle.

She also pointed to several upcoming community garage sales, including Coldwater’s sales set for April 30 through May 2, along with the Mercer County Council on Aging sale scheduled for May 7 through 10 at the Council on Aging on Riley Street in Celina. Proceeds from that sale will support senior programming.

Beougher said Versiti Blood Center will host a community blood drive at the Mercer County Fairgrounds on Monday, May 4, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. She noted that donated blood stays local and benefits patients in Mercer County.

Families looking for summer activities are also encouraged to sign children up for the Kids Bowl Free program. Beougher said both Plaza Lanes and Pla Mor Lanes are participating, allowing kids to bowl two free games each day throughout the summer.

She also promoted the Mercer Health 5K Challenge summer racing series, which begins June 20, and said runners can save by preregistering for the full bundle by that same date.

The Celina Farmers Market will continue its indoor market through the end of April in the PBS Building at the Mercer County Fairgrounds, with the outdoor season set to begin Saturday, May 2. The market runs Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Looking ahead, Beougher said the Celina Mercer County Chamber’s annual golf outing is scheduled for May 22 at Celina Lynx Golf Club. She said the event will feature networking, competition, and sponsorship opportunities, with space limited for teams.

Beougher encouraged residents to learn more through the chamber’s Facebook page or website and closed with a reminder to shop local and support local.
