CELINA - The Celina Police Department has announced and welcomed its third sponsored cadet, David Richardson, as a new police officer for the city.
According to the department, Richardson was sponsored by the City of Celina to attend the Wright State University Lake Campus Police Academy and graduated earlier this month.
Richardson was officially sworn in Tuesday by Celina Mayor Jeff Hazel. He was also recognized alongside Celina Police Chief Tom Wale.
The department said Richardson is a graduate of Jackson High School and served five years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps. He has also continued his military service through the National Guard since October of 2022 and remains in that role today.
