Fort Recovery Man Charged After Methamphetamine Allegedly Found During Rockford Trespassing Call

A Fort Recovery man is facing felony drug charges after Mercer County deputies responded to a possible trespassing complaint in Rockford.

According to court records, 70 year old Wayne A. Jutte of Fort Recovery has been charged in Mercer County Common Pleas Court with aggravated possession of drugs, a second degree felony, and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth degree misdemeanor.

The charges stem from an incident on April 26th at 201 Buckeye Street in the Village of Rockford.

According to an affidavit filed with the complaint, a Mercer County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to investigate a possible trespassing complaint at Tranquility of Rockford. Employees told deputies that a man had been evicted from the facility because of alleged drug possession and that someone was currently inside a room with the door shut.

Court records state that deputies found Jutte inside the room and requested EMS because of his condition. While waiting for EMS, a deputy went to check Jutte’s truck, which was parked near the main entrance, to see if there was a key so the vehicle could be moved.

The affidavit says the deputy saw a glass pipe with burnt residue in plain view on the dashboard. Deputies then searched the vehicle and allegedly found a glass container with a blue lid containing methamphetamine.

Court records state the contents tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 20.78 grams.

Jutte was taken into custody and booked into the Mercer County Detention Facility.

A complaint is an allegation. Jutte is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
