Celina Mercer County Chamber Highlights Upcoming Community Events

The Celina Mercer County Chamber of Commerce is reminding residents about several upcoming events around Mercer County, including garage sales, summer programs, blood drives, local races, the farmers market, and the Chamber’s annual golf outing.

Community garage sales continue this weekend, with Coldwater welcoming shoppers April 30 through May 2. Residents are invited to stroll through the community and look for bargains.

One of the largest garage sales in Mercer County is also coming up at the Council on Aging. The senior citizen garage sale will be held May 7 through May 10 at the Council on Aging, located at 217 Riley Street in Celina. All proceeds from the sale will benefit Council on Aging programming.

The Mercer County District Library will host its Friends of the Library book sale Friday, May 1 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the book barn.

Versiti Blood Center will host a community blood drive at the Mercer County Fairgrounds on Monday, May 4 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Donations will stay local and benefit those in Mercer County. To schedule a blood donation, call 937 461 3220.

Families looking for summer activities can also sign children up for the free Kids Bowl Free program. Plaza Lanes and Pla Mor Lanes are both participating, allowing kids to bowl two free games per day throughout the summer. The Mercer Health 5K Challenge is also preparing for another summer running series. The first race is scheduled for Saturday, June 20. Participants can pre register for all races by June 20 and save with the bundle package. More information is available at mercerhealth5kchallenge.com.

The Celina Farmers Market will kick off its outdoor season Saturday, May 2 at the Mercer County Fairgrounds. The market will be open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Celina Mercer County Chamber of Commerce will also host its annual golf outing on May 22 at Celina Lynx Golf Club. The event will include friendly competition, networking, and sponsorship opportunities. Teams can register by calling 419 586 2219. Space is limited.
