Flagger killed in crash on U.S. 33 east of Wapakoneta
A flagger directing traffic in a construction zone was killed after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday on U.S. Route 33 east of Wapakoneta.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the flagger was working in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 33 when they were hit by a black Jeep traveling eastbound.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending notification of family members.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the fatal crash. No additional information, including whether any charges are expected, has been released.
