Two Drivers Injured in Head-On Crash on State Route 49 in Darke County

Two people were taken to the hospital following a head-on crash Thursday night in Darke County.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office says Arcanum Fire, Arcanum Rescue, MICU and deputies were dispatched at approximately 9:25 p.m. August 13 to the intersection of State Route 49 and Hollansburg-Sampson Road.

A preliminary investigation determined a black GMC Terrain driven by 45-year-old Kelly King of Clayton was traveling southeast on State Route 49.

Deputies say a white Ram ProMaster 2500 driven by 34-year-old Christopher Worthy of Lithonia, Georgia, attempted to turn from State Route 49 onto Hollansburg-Sampson Road, resulting in a head-on collision.

Worthy was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Arcanum Rescue. King was also taken to Miami Valley Hospital by MICU.

The severity of their injuries was not known as of the sheriff’s office release.

The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
