St. Marys 2026 Street Program to Begin Work on South Street and Ohio Street

Contractors for the City of St. Marys will begin work on South Street and Ohio Street as part of the city’s 2026 street program.

Work on South Street will take place from Front Street to the river bridge and will include sidewalk and utility improvements.

As part of the project, existing street lights along that section of South Street will be removed while construction is underway. New street lights will be installed before the project is completed.

South Street will remain open to traffic during construction, although periodic road closures will be necessary as work progresses.

Ohio Street will also undergo reconstruction between Spring Street and High Street.

Road closed signs will be posted on Ohio Street, with access limited to homeowners during the project.

The City of St. Marys says the 2026 street program is expected to be completed no later than November 20.
