Versailles Woman Flown to Hospital After Crash on U.S. 127 in Darke County

A Versailles woman was flown to a Dayton hospital following a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Darke County.

According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies along with Greenville Township Fire and Rescue and Greenville City Fire responded to the intersection of U.S. Route 127 and Horatio-Harris Creek Road at approximately 2:09 p.m. August 20.

A preliminary investigation found that a white Volvo tractor-trailer driven by Perez Efrain, 62, of Tampa, Florida, was traveling north on U.S. 127 and slowed to make a left turn onto Horatio-Harris Creek Road.

The semi-trailer was then rear-ended by a silver Saturn driven by Audrey Johnson, 34, of Versailles.

Johnson was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
