Celina City Council to Meet Monday

Celina City Council will meet Monday evening with several items of new business on the agenda, including a proposed lease involving the Bryson Park District, an annexation request and funding for court-related improvements.

A Committee of the Whole meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, August 24, with the regular City Council meeting to follow at 7 p.m. in council chambers at 225 North Main Street.

Council is scheduled to consider an ordinance authorizing a lease agreement between the City of Celina and Buckeye Soft Serve LLC for the lease of the Bryson Park District.

Another ordinance would accept a petition for the annexation of approximately 1.5 acres in Jefferson Township into the City of Celina. The proposed annexation would be known as the Grieshop Properties Annexation.

Council will also consider appropriating funds for court probation equipment, the relocation and setup of the probation office and website accessibility improvements. The ordinance would be considered as an emergency measure.

Under old business, council is scheduled to give a second reading to an ordinance amending a previous measure and authorizing the mayor and safety-service director to enter into an amended Mercer County/City of Celina County Ambulance EMS agreement.

The meeting will also include committee reports, audience communications and administrative reports.
