Parker Wynk Showing Encouraging Signs of Improvement Following Friday Night Football Injury
Parker Wynk is showing encouraging signs of improvement following a serious injury during Friday night’s high school football game.
In an update posted on Facebook, Parker’s family said he was able to move his legs Saturday and has gained more feeling in many parts of his body.
The family says the sensation is still primarily a tingling feeling when he is touched, rather than normal sensation, but they say he continues to improve.
“God is GOOD all the time,” the family wrote.
Parker was injured during Friday night’s football game when he suffered a c-spine injury. He was transported for medical treatment following the injury as family, teammates and members of the community rallied around him.
On Saturday evening, hundreds of people gathered at Celina First Church of God for a special prayer service for Parker and his family.
The Wynks are part of the Celina First church family. The church opened its doors to the entire community for the service, with Pastor Craig leading the time of prayer.
Those unable to attend in person were also encouraged to stop and pray for Parker and the Wynk family from wherever they were. The service was also livestreamed.
The large community response included overflow parking and additional seating in the church fellowship hall.
Parker’s latest progress is providing encouragement to his family and supporters, particularly his ability to move his legs and the increased feeling he is experiencing throughout parts of his body.
The Wynk family continues to ask the community to pray for Parker’s full and complete healing.
