Waynesfield Man to Be Sentenced October 21 After Pleading Guilty to Five Sex Related Felonies

A Waynesfield man who pleaded guilty to five felony charges stemming from a child pornography investigation is scheduled to be sentenced next month in Auglaize County Common Pleas Court.

Court records show 46 year old Jerod Ridenour is scheduled to appear for sentencing at 1:15 p.m. on October 21 before Judge Frederick D. Pepple.

Ridenour was originally indicted in May on 87 felony charges. Those included eight counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material, one count of voyeurism and 78 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor.

He later pleaded guilty to one count of voyeurism and four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor. The remaining 82 charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

The five charges to which Ridenour pleaded guilty involved separate incidents occurring between January 6, 2021 and December 9, 2024.

Court information presented in the case indicates investigators found dozens of child pornography images on electronic devices connected to Ridenour. One identified victim was 15 years old when authorities say Ridenour recorded her while she was nude without her knowledge.

Ridenour faces a maximum possible prison sentence of seven years.

He will also be classified as a Tier II sex offender at sentencing and will be required to register with local authorities every six months for 25 years.

Ridenour was remanded to the custody of the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office following his guilty pleas and is being held while awaiting sentencing.

His sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 21 at 1:15 p.m. in Auglaize County Common Pleas Court.
