Celina City Council to Consider Bryson Park Lease, Annexation and Wastewater Staffing

Celina City Council will consider legislation involving the Bryson Park District, wastewater staffing, a proposed annexation and the city’s ambulance agreement during its regular meeting Monday evening.

Under new business, council is scheduled to consider an ordinance that would revise staffing at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The proposal would authorize one assistant superintendent and four operators or trainees, increasing the department’s total authorized workforce to six positions.

Council will also consider a resolution authorizing Mayor Jeff Hazel to apply for funding through the Ohio Public Works Commission’s State Capital Improvement and Local Transportation Improvement programs.

Two ordinances will receive second readings. One would authorize an amended lease agreement between the city and Buckeye Soft Serve LLC involving the Bryson Park District. The other would accept a petition to annex approximately 1.5 acres in Jefferson Township into Celina. The property would be known as the Grieshop Properties Annexation.

A third reading is scheduled on legislation amending the ambulance service agreement between Mercer County and the City of Celina.

Council will also receive a presentation from Benjamin Rife of the West Ohio Community Action Partnership and review a liquor-license transfer from Jin Yu Inc. to Man Tang LLC Asian Buffet.

A Committee of the Whole meeting begins at 6:15 p.m. The regular council meeting begins at 7 p.m. in council chambers at 225 North Main Street.
