Celina Council to Consider Eastview Park Agreement for Harvesting Hope Fall Fest

Celina City Council will consider an agreement Monday allowing Foundations Behavioral Health Services’ Recovery Clubhouse to use part of Eastview Park for the Harvesting Hope Fall Fest.

The proposed event is scheduled for October 24 and will be open to the public. Planned activities include food, face painting, arts and crafts, resource tables, a fun run, a self-defense lesson and fishing.

Under the proposed agreement, the organization would pay the city $1 annually, along with the current rental fees for shelter houses five and six. The agreement would allow exclusive use of the designated park area for 24 hours before and after the event.

The city would remain responsible for maintenance, utilities, lawn care and facility repairs. Event organizers would be responsible for removing trash, debris and temporary structures associated with the festival.

The agreement would continue from year to year but would be reviewed annually. Either party could terminate it by providing 90 days’ written notice.

Council will consider the agreement as emergency legislation so it may take effect in time for the October event.

Council will also hear third readings of legislation involving a lease with Buckeye Soft Serve for the Bryson Park District and the proposed annexation of approximately 1.5 acres in Jefferson Township.

The meeting begins Monday at 7 p.m. in the Celina City Council Chambers at 225 North Main Street.
