New Bremen Village Council has given final approval to its participation in the 2027 Alternate Plan of Distribution of Local Government Funds proposed by the Auglaize County Budget Commission.

Mayor Bob Parker said during a recap of Monday night’s meeting that the village’s amount under the plan is $101,098.10.

Council approved the resolution following its third reading.

Parker also reported that the village recorded $1,802,163.57 in revenue during the previous month, compared with $1,258,765.83 in expenses.

Several other pieces of legislation remain under consideration.

Council held a second reading on an ordinance involving the lease of village-owned farmland for 2027, 2028 and 2029. The village previously advertised a three-year lease involving two tracts of farm ground it owns in Van Buren Township in Shelby County.

A second reading was also held on an ordinance updating the Village of New Bremen’s investment policy.

Council introduced one new piece of legislation during the meeting. The ordinance would designate certain public lands as no longer needed for public purposes, potentially allowing those properties to later be offered for auction.

That ordinance received its first reading Monday night.

The Village of New Bremen Council normally meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.
