Celina and St. Marys councils set meetings for early next week

City councils in Celina and St. Marys will consider several pieces of legislation during meetings scheduled for early next week.

Celina City Council will meet Monday, October 12, at 7 p.m. in council chambers at 225 North Main Street.

The primary item under new business is an ordinance that would authorize Mayor Jeff Hazel to enter into an agreement with the Mercer County Commissioners for indigent defense services in Celina Municipal Court during 2027.

Council is also scheduled to review minutes from its September 28 meeting and receive a report from the Parks and Recreation Committee. An executive session is listed on the agenda, although no specific purpose is included.

St. Marys City Council will meet Tuesday, October 13, at 5:15 p.m. in council chambers at the city building.

Council is expected to hear a zoning change request before considering two resolutions on third reading.

One is an emergency resolution authorizing the city to apply for an Ohio Department of Transportation Transportation Alternatives Program grant for Phase Five of the Spring Street reconstruction project.

The other resolution would clarify the name of Yorkshire Court within the city.

New legislation includes a resolution accepting tax amounts and rates determined by the Budget Commission and certifying the necessary levies to the county auditor.

Council will also be asked to schedule a Finance Committee meeting for Monday, October 19, at 5:15 p.m. to review supplemental funding requests.
