Three people killed in Clermont County house fire

Three people were killed Wednesday morning when a fast-moving fire swept through a home in the Clermont County village of Felicity.

Firefighters were dispatched shortly before 5 a.m. and arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames with residents trapped inside.

Two people were removed from the home but were pronounced dead at the scene after efforts to revive them were unsuccessful. A third victim was found in a rear bedroom after firefighters brought the blaze under control.

The victims were described as an elderly married couple and another person who was in their care. Their names were not immediately released.

Nine fire departments responded to the scene. The fire also disrupted the beginning of the school day at a nearby school.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
