Minster council finalizes street names for county 911 system

MINSTER — Minster Village Council has approved the official names of two streets to ensure the village and Auglaize County 911 addressing systems are consistent.

Village Administrator Don Harrod said the county listed Midway Drive as Midway North, while the village used Midway Drive. The county also identified Industrial Drive as Industrial Park Drive.

Council approved the third and final reading of an ordinance officially naming the streets Midway Drive and Industrial Drive.

Harrod said the changes were requested by the Auglaize County Engineer’s Office and geographic information system manager to eliminate discrepancies that could affect addressing and emergency response.

Council also heard the first reading of a resolution accepting tax rates determined by the Auglaize County Budget Commission.

The village expects a rate of 1.829 mills inside the 10-mill limitation to generate approximately $348,700 for the general fund in 2027.

A three-mill fire and EMS levy is expected to generate approximately $362,152.

Council also accepted Minster’s September income-tax report. The village received $383,950.32 during the month, bringing collections through the first nine months of 2026 to approximately $3.73 million.

Council also approved the use and temporary closure of several village streets for the Harmony for Ohio Foundation Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day.

The annual 5K will begin and finish at Minster High School. The Minster Police Department will assist with traffic control during the event.
