Morton Salt to Lay Off 77 Workers Following Mine Flood

Morton Salt will lay off 77 employees Wednesday after flooding at its Fairport Harbor mine in Lake County, according to a report from Cleveland.com cited by WKYC-TV.

The company says affected employees will receive 60 days of pay and retain their benefits through the end of the year.

Workers were safely evacuated when the mine flooded last week.
