Vantage Board to Consider Superintendent Rick Turner’s Retirement

Vantage Board to Consider Superintendent Rick Turner’s Retirement

The Vantage Career Center school board is expected to consider Superintendent Rick Turner’s retirement resignation when it meets Thursday.

The resignation, listed on the meeting agenda, would take effect July 31, 2027, at the end of Turner’s current contract. Board members are also expected to consider a contract with Grand Lake Regional Educational Service Center to assist in finding his replacement.

In a letter to the board, Turner reflected on his connection to Vantage, which began 50 years ago when he enrolled as a high school junior in the Machine Tool Technology program. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to return as superintendent and work alongside the board and staff.

Turner became superintendent in 2017. He previously worked at Apollo Career Center, including more than 11 years as director of adult programs.
