OHSAA Seeks Appeals Court Decision in Glenville Playoff Dispute
CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Ohio High School Athletic Association is seeking an appeals court decision by noon Thursday as Cleveland Glenville’s football playoff status remains unresolved.
According to WKYC-TV and the Ohio News Network, the association asked the appeals court to put a lower court ruling on hold. A judge ruled Tuesday that the OHSAA acted improperly when it removed Glenville from the playoffs before completing its investigation into player eligibility.
A restraining order had temporarily blocked the team’s removal while the case proceeded.
The association requested a decision ahead of Friday’s playoff game against Salem. Either Glenville or University School is expected to face Salem, depending on the outcome of the dispute.
