Mayor Highlights Vancrest, Air-tow and Crown Investments in Wapakoneta

WAPAKONETA, Ohio — Wapakoneta Mayor Dan Lee says several business investments are moving forward in the city, including a $15 million Vancrest facility, manufacturing expansion involving Air-tow and FlexArm, and a new Crown operation.

Lee said Crown plans to establish a facility in an existing Wapakoneta building. He welcomed the opportunity to strengthen the city’s connection with the company.

“We have a lot of employees that work at Crown, but we don’t have any Crown facilities here until now,” Lee said.

Lee also highlighted expansion involving Air-tow and FlexArm. Air-tow has announced a $6.8 million manufacturing expansion in Wapakoneta, adding approximately 76,000 square feet to increase production capacity.

The Vancrest project will provide skilled nursing care, assisted living and short-term rehabilitation at the former Auglaize Acres property on Infirmary Road. The approximately 67,000-square-foot senior living campus represents a $15 million investment.

Lee’s development update follows his discussion with WCSM about the parks levy approved by Wapakoneta voters Tuesday. He said that 2-mill levy will generate approximately $560,000 annually for city parks, with maintenance and aging playground equipment among the first priorities.
