Bomb Threats, Late Absentee Ballot Delivery Delay Lucas County Results
TOLEDO, Ohio — Bomb threats and a late delivery of absentee ballots contributed to Lucas County becoming the last Ohio county to report results from Tuesday’s general election, according to WTOL-TV and the Ohio News Network.
Board of elections officials said the U.S. Postal Service delivered a large batch of absentee ballots around the time polls closed at 7:30 p.m.
Officials said the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office required the county to finish counting all absentee ballots before releasing results.
Lucas County was the last of Ohio’s 88 counties to report.
